These are best grown in a container in a conservatory or greenhouse and can be enjoyed outdoors in a sunny spot during the summer. Ideally, this variety of bougainvillea is pretty pruned into a standard, otherwise, it will need a trellis or support. Grow in well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Now when getting a cutting, from a neighbor or from your own garden, the best would be to get one whole branch, it would help the parent plant recover better than making an abrupt cut somewhere at the apex or in the middle.
