Hey Plant Lover, welcome back. How have you been, hope 2021 is treating you well. Now, what are we doing today- we will try and fix ourselves an Oleander Tricolor. The method I have brought today is simple and has all the ingredients to displace even grafting in some situations. Why I say that, well, Grafting has every chance of being unsuccessful if not done perfectly and that, in turn, will harm the plant in the long run. This method is for those who want to be clever growers who know how to get exactly what they want. Let us dive straight into the video and find out exactly what has to be done and most importantly how- cuttings size, soil mix, watering schedule, repotting, pot size, and everything else. Please make sure you are subscribed and stay with me until the end of the video. Here we go…….. Three beauties in one; with pink, white, and red flowers all growing together in one pot. The boldly colored, sweetly perfumed blooms will stand out against their rich, green foliage. Your garden will be filled with the delightfully sweet perfume from each flower plus they'll attract beneficial pollinators to your garden. Cuttings should be mature and have a rugged look, anywhere between 6 and 8 inches in length. Scar the cuttings at the bottom 3/4th of an inch is perfect. Let the cuttings sit in cinnamon powder and water solution for 2-3 hours. Get plain and simple garden soil in the pot and pre-soak it while cuttings sit in the solution. Cuttings in, push them gently, and get them as close to each other as possible. In a couple of years there is a possibility that the different stems will fuse together; won’t that be AWESOME! Don’t worry about the survival of these cuttings being so close to each other, after a point they will start growing as one plant with different root systems. Oleander plants simply love hot dry weather yet they are also perfectly happy in conditions down to -5ºC. Evergreen and fast-growing this plant will ensure instant and year-round impact, with a long flowering period from May through to September. This is the time Oleanders will start focussing on developing their respective root structures. You might think the plants have not grown tall even after almost 4 months, well, let me show you why they haven’t grown aggressively- the reason is the root system. Have a look-see, the roots have outgrown the pot, so it’s time to do what’s needed- repot. Make sure the drainage hole is not blocked, put some finer stones at the bottom of the pot for better drainage and it’s time we make a special soil mixture for our Oleandars- 1 part river sand, 1 part compost, and 1 part garden soil. Gradually creates a mixed Tricolour bush appearance, all colors intermingling. This pot would have 3 colors in about the next 8-10 months or so. I thought you shouldn't lose time in getting one such pot of your own, so part 2 would be released whenever these Oleanders flower, and I am expecting the Red to flower the quickest, followed by Pink and then White.
