Money Plant (Pothos) Stuck At A Certain Height | 7 Tips To Induce Surplus Growth & Get Bigger Leaves #मनीप्लांट #moneyplant #pothos #पोथोस

Hey Plant Lover, welcome back. How you doing…hope all’s well with you and your plants. I know we all have some favorites when it comes to plants and trees, but Money Plant aka Pothos is something of a universal plant, you will have it by default in your home and garden. And we all have seen the struggle to make it grow big and just run wild with foliage and branches, but that doesn’t happen. So what we do, well, for the one you can watch this video with me and see what I have for you today- from age of the plant to where to place it and what should be the watering schedule, how often you need to add fertilizer and does the pot shape matter and what role good vertical support will play, let us find out together, please make sure you are subscribed and press the notification bell. Here we go…….. Age and other factors: The plant needs to be older than 3 years and should be in the soil, what I mean by that, the said money plant aka pathos should have seen it all 2-3 times being exactly at the same spot- vagaries of weather, sunlight exposure, watering schedule along with soil mix and fertilizers. If you are growing money plant in water, stay on the course however don’t think even for once that you can pour in some magic fertilizer and you can induce growth more than 5-10 inches per year and that too if you are lucky to have moisture in the air for a major part of the year. You cannot expect the money plant you just bought to start doing its thing and grow bigger leaves or start growing aggressively. Location: Indoor or Outdoor, won’t matter! However, if the plant is indoors, it would need filtered sunlight, now that could be for 2-3 hours or more depending on the location inside the house. And if the plant is outside, it should be devoid of direct sunlight, morning or evening sun will work but for the best results, let the plant be in a shaded area, and avoid direct sunlight for more than a couple of hours. Pot: Get a shallow and rectangular pot. This would ensure- more moisture for bottom leaves and will also make sure the plant grows horizontally establishing a sturdy root system. Also, note that Pothos’ roots tend to grow more sideways than deep hence a shallow and wider pot would ensure the roots have space to cover more area which in turn will keep some of the moisture intact and you won’t have to worry about watering every other day Watering Schedule: Water the plant like any other plant, once a week of course thoroughly. You can always sprinkle water on the leaves once in a while, though only during evenings Pruning: Observe the plant every 2-3 months and if you see a lot of upward growth, decide on 2 or 3 strands that you would want to climb vertically in the future, and prune back every other growth to a minimum and replant those cuttings in a different pot for another specimen. Fertilizer: Any kind of fertilizer is good, the thing to note is this- the amount of fertilizer is important- so if you got a slow-release fertilizer you can afford to use a fistful of it in a normal-looking pot like this, however chemical fertilizers should be used in a small quantity over a longer period, the best would be that you use such fertilizers only once a year. Vertical Support: The most important factor in making sure that your money plant grows aggressively with bigger leaves. If the plant is closer to the ground, it doesn't need to store more water within the leaves, hence the leaves tend to stay the normal size however once far away from the ground, the plant automatically starts to store more water and the leaf’s size grows by the day.
