Well, today I got something special- a powerful superfood known as GINGER. We will discuss how can we grow it in a container and of course the care after. When we are starting or growing a plant or a tree there a couple of things which are specifically necessary and there are a few things which you can ignore to an extent and in this video will know everything we need to know about growing ginger. I don’t need to mention that Ginger costs more than your average #vegetable so I am sure it would be a great idea if you grow them at home- organic and better tasting. Obviously, the #harvest video will come out after 8-9 months and I would like you to start your own right away so that our harvests get underway around the same time. Always know, first 3 weeks of any plantation would give you an idea how good or bad the harvest would be, so as will see the ginger I grew is about a month old and it looks pretty good. So are you ready to dive into this video, great, please smash that subscribe button and let us begin………. A powerful #superfood, ginger contains #antibiotic and #antiinflammatory #properties, and many people value ginger for its proven ability to calm an upset tummy, well you got to pick your usage for ginger- #food #herb #beverage et cetera. #Season Can be grown any time of the year however for best harvest- start them in late summer and harvest after 8-9 months #Pot Should be at least 1 foot deep, more the better #Soil Try layering different components as soil mix- garden soil 70% cocopeat 25% and 5% perlite #Seed Pick up leftover ginger pieces from the kitchen that dried under room temperature. The protruding areas will shoot up so select the pieces with more of those. #Treatment Don’t soak them in water before planting and if you can avoid cutting one piece into smaller pieces would only serve your plant better in the longer run #Depth 1-2 inches deep in the soil is ideal #Watering This is one of the most important steps. First one week don’t water the pot just sprinkle water generously so that a couple of inches of the top soil are well soaked. And after a week, water every 4 days. Let the pot be in shaded area for 10 days and then can expose it to the sun. Day 13- Ginger which already had a shoot growing is the first one to be out of the soil with some growth but wait for it, you will see the stem goes brown and then dries out. So always make sure you avoid ginger with already some shoots growing as the seed, you will be better off with the one which starts in the soil Day 15- There are 2 more now, mind you ginger plants grow faster than compared to most plants. But your harvest is more to do with whats going on under the soil. Day 16- We got all of them germinating pretty good. Day 18- As you see all the plants are doing great and within a couple of weeks you would know that you can expect a healthy harvest by end of 8-9 months when the plant’s leaves start turning yellow. In case you have any more #questions about planting Ginger until we meet again for the harvest, don’t hesitate to write to me and we can have a discussion. Thank you for your time and I will see you again soon, you take care and stay healthy. Goodbye!!
