JADE BONSAI || Pair of LUCKY BREAKS and 4-year HEADSTART #crassulaovata #jade #bonsai #DXBGarden #jadeplant #luckyplant #moneyplant #moneytree Hey Plant Lover, how you doing!!! Welcome again, here is another video for you to explore more of the majestic and ever-mysterious Plant Kingdom. I have got crassula ovata aka Jade, though there are a lot of varieties and it is quite easy to differentiate them through leaves. I know you might be looking for a kind of headstart to make a bonsai, if that was a yes, then please make sure you stay with me throughout this video because we will do exactly that- save you a couple of years if you are looking for a perfect bonsai to adore your home, and as we start please make sure the subscription tab is pressed. Let us go then Now, you can take a thicker cutting but I would suggest getting a cutting which is about as thick as an average person’s thumb. Well, that’s job half done. Now the most critical part, you got to let the cutting callous for 24-48 hours- obviously, if the cutting is thinner then 24 hours and so on. Once you see the cut part has healed and dried up, that’s your cue to the next step. I told you it would be exciting, let us continue. Now you will have to remove most of the leaves, especially around the base. The super thing about jade cuttings is that even if you keep some leaves it doesn't discourage root formation. So yeah! The important thing here is to get a picture of how you want your bonsai to look and remove unnecessary branches. You get the picture, cool!! This is how your end product should look like. Leaves removed, clean cuts, unwanted branches removed, well calloused, and a canopy. It’s time a pot it. Soil Mix- 80% sand and 20 % garden soil. Of course, once the roots are formed then we will change the soil mix to a bonsai one. Here you will see a technique that will give us a further headstart in getting the roots to pop out even more. So this will prove to be a pair of lucky breaks for our bonsai experiment. You got to use a small pot on top of a big one- and after 6 months we can remove the small cup to reveal the roots on top of the bigger pot. I know you can picture that already, kudos, bravo!! The cutting is all tucked in…….now you wait for a couple of weeks to see some growth out of the soil and that’s when you know something has started underneath too. Water it thoroughly and continue doing that for at least a month in the evenings once in 4 days. This is how the plant looks like after 1 month, know this, you need to hold on any thought of replanting it for at least 6 months. Let the roots outgrow the pot and then you can transfer it into a bonsai pot. Should bring out that video too as and when I do that. Here we are, that’s the end of the video. Hope you enjoyed watching it, sure, I did making it. Thank you for your time. I take your leave now and I will see you again soon, until then happy gardening. Cheers!!
